Gov. Abba K Yusuf Unveils Record-Breaking N1.3 Trillion Budget Proposal, Pledges to Transform Kano State
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has presented a record-breaking N1.368 trillion budget proposal for 2026 to the State House of Assembly. This is the largest budget ever proposed by the state.
The budget prioritizes education, with N405.35 billion (30%) allocated to the sector, followed by infrastructure (N346.28 billion, 25%) and health (N212.25 billion, 16%).
The budget is divided into N934.64 billion (68%) for capital expenditure and N433.48 billion (32%) for recurrent spending. Governor Yusuf emphasized that the budget is a "bold but realistic roadmap" aimed at driving growth, improving infrastructure, and enhancing human capital development.
The proposed budget is expected to boost economic growth, create jobs, and improve the overall well-being of Kano State residents.
