Grassroots Development: Governor Yusuf Engages Supervisory Councillors, Advisers

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced plans to engage with supervisory councillors and advisers as part of his administration's relentless pursuit of grassroots development.

This engagement was aimed at strengthening local governance, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that development projects align with the needs and aspirations of the people.

In a statement issued by the governor's Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Monday in Kano said the governor revealed the plan when he hosted Forum of Supervisory Councillors and Advisers from 44 local governments areas of the state.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said In line with his administration's commitment to empowering local communities, various initiatives have been implemented aimed at improving the lives of Kano State residents, including the allocation of ₦4.8 billion for development projects across the 44 local government areas.

He aknowledged the contributions of supervisory councillors and advisers who are playing a critical role in ensuring that development projects are implemented effectively and that policies are responsive to the needs of the people.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Muhammad Tajuddeen Othman Zaura, expressed optimism of the governor's return in 2027 inview of his unprecedented achivements and positive transformation of Kano State.

In a remark, the State Chairperson of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hajiya Sa'adatu Salisu Yusha'u, commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's examplary leadership; assured continued support for the betterment of Kano.

The Forum Chairman, Hon. Hudu Abdu Takai said the forum of 748 membership was established to support Kano State Government in the actualization of its lofty policies and programmes in the nooks and crannies of the state.

During the event, the forum conferred an Award of Excellence to the governor and unveiled Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's promotion project named, "Abba Keep Moving"
