Kano State Government Directs Newly Appointed Political Office Holders to Declare Assets

In its sustained drive to promote transparency and accountability in governance, the Kano State Government has directed all newly appointed political office holders to immediately declare their assets with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

The directive was issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, during the ongoing Special Capacity Building Workshop for top government functionaries in Kaduna.

According to the SSG, the measure is intended to ensure that public officials are transparent about their financial status and dealings, thereby preventing potential conflicts of interest and strengthening the principles of good governance.

“All political appointees recently appointed by the Kano State Government are directed to immediately declare their assets with the Code of Conduct Bureau,” Alhaji Umar Faruk stated.

He emphasized that asset declaration is not only a legal obligation but also a demonstration of commitment to integrity, accountability, and service in the public interest.

The SSG further noted that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf remains steadfast in his commitment to entrenching good governance and ensuring that public officials are held to the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
