MPPPM&E Inspects New Medical Facilities as Governor Yusuf Equips Gwarzo General Hospital with Multimillion-Naira Equipment
Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has equipped Gwarzo General Hospital with medical equipment worth millions of naira, aimed at enhancing the delivery of adequate and efficient healthcare services across the state.
Unveiling the new equipment on Thursday, April 24, 2025, the hospital's Chief Medical Director disclosed to the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, that the new equipment will serve the Accident & Emergency and Eye Units of the hospital.
During the inspection, the Commissioner described the new installations as world-class medical facilities, comparable to international standards.
He also noted that the ministry would summon the contractor to confirm the delivery timeline for the remaining equipment. The Commissioner expressed appreciation to Alh. Ismaila Gwarzo, who constructed and donated the A&E unit, describing him as a philanthropist worthy of emulation.
Other projects inspected during the tour included the 5-kilometer Shanono Road and the 13.3-kilometer Hawan-Ganji to Kara-Badari Road. At Murabusawa Quarters in Shanono, Alh. Tukur Auditor (Jagora) drew the ministry’s attention to the need for expansion of waterways and drainage systems to prevent flooding during the rainy season.
The Honorable Commissioner also visited the Kano State Farm Mechanization Institute and the Magaga Center for Artisanal Fishery Skills Acquisition.
